Arrowleaf Balsamroot, my lifelong friend in spring.

It’s that time of year again- the Arrowleaf is in full bloom, blanketing the hillsides. Being born and raised in Eastern Washington, this flower has always held special meaning to me. With age, I’ve come to mark time not by the calender, but by the rhythm of nature: the blooming of Arnica, the arrival of St. John’s Wort, the ripening of strawberries, and the readiness of Willow harvest.

I’m considering printing a few photos on canvas to enjoy the vibrant colors year round. The bloom is brief, as it is meant to be, making its presence all the more cherished.
